Scholarships

 

ALTRUISTIC CONTRIBUTION

SCHOLARSHIP:
A grant or payment made to support a student’s education, awarded on the basis of academic or ‘other’ achievement.

$100 - will go towards a scholarship fund for an eligible woman to join the trip
$100 - will go towards education of women & girls in the host country

$200 from your initial investment (for full fare travellers)
will go towards making a significant difference in other women’s lives.

 

STUDENT OF LIFE – GLOBAL EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS

Each trip, one lucky woman will be able to access an experience that otherwise would likely have been out of reach.

The successful scholarship applicant has the opportunity to have up to *$2,000 deducted from her (full fare) investment cost!

Who’s eligible?

  • YOU, if your annual income is in the vicinity of $30,000 (negotiable)

  • YOU, if you have a basic understanding of issues such as globalisation, poverty, inequality, human rights and sustainability.

  • YOU, if you contribute to society by either volunteering or donating to a recognisable *ethical cause or causes on a regular basis (*subject to my consideration/discretion)

  • YOU, if you have a genuine interest in learning whilst travelling

  • YOU, if you hold a current passport (or proof of funds to obtain same)

  • YOU, if you have a friendly, sociable, openhearted nature

If you believe you are eligible, you are invited to submit a written application that identifies WHY you wish to come, WHAT you hope to gain/learn and; WHY YOU are the woman that should be chosen as the scholarship recipient. YOU should acknowledge that the scholarship is a hand up and not a hand out and why this is important to you, as well as what the scholarship would mean to you.

*$1,000 is contributed towards the scholarship by The Ethical Road and the balance of the scholarship is determined by the number of attendees on the nominated travel date. Applicants are solely responsible for airfares to the nominated destination and all associated insurance costs.

$100 of all participants initial trip investment amount is dedicated, not additional, to the empowerment of women in the communities that The Ethical Road visits. The Ethical Road travel experiences are truly committed to making a difference in women’s lives, by means of a hand up, and our scholarships also give the golden gift of education TO THE WOMEN & GIRLS IN THE HOST COUNTRY.
